What is MapBiomas Alerta?

MapBiomas Alerta is a validation and refining system for deforestation alerts based on high-resolution satellite images.

It is a platform that brings together alerts from various deforestation detection sources in Peru. These alerts are overlaid with different territorial categories and presented in a free individual report for each detected deforestation event.

The MapBiomas Alerta Perú initiative publishes all forest loss due to deforestation, detailing the driver, without making any judgment regarding the legality, regularity, or responsibility associated with such loss.

Here you will periodically find new validated deforestation alerts for all Amazonian region, with temporal and cartographic filtering options.

By selecting an alert on the platform, you will be able to view high-resolution “before” and “after” images of the deforestation.

Access the full report for each validated alert, which is stored with a unique code.
